New Student Orientation

From: Commanding Officer
To:   Incoming Midshipmen
Subj:  WELCOME ABOARD CLASS OF 2021
1.  Congratulations on your decision to become a part of the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) as a member of the University of California, Berkeley Unit.
2.  If you have not already done so, please visit our website at http://nrotc.berkeley.edu.  I direct your attention to the New Student Orientation tab, and particularly the NSO Documents link.  There you will find our NSO Welcome Aboard Package – 2017 and the many forms that we will need you to complete prior to your arrival.  Most importantly, you will find information concerning Navy and Marine Corps height/weight and physical fitness standards, along with information on a pre-entry conditioning program.  We take physical conditioning very seriously and urge you to arrive ready to meet program standards.
3.  You are joining an exceptional program with a long and distinguished history.  As one of the first six NROTC programs established, we are a small but instrumental Unit in our Navy’s and nation’s history.  We are certain your experience will prove to be rewarding and the staff and I look forward to your arrival.
4.  Should you have any questions prior to your arrival or need any help navigating through the NSO documentation, please reach out to us at http://nrotc.berkeley.edu/contact-us/.
